HDR and Bracketing in Lightroom by Barry:
20:00
This Thursday Barry will go through the Bracketing and HDR (High Dynamic Range) method he uses in Lightroom. For those who are unfamiliar with the terms, Bracketing is often (but not solely) used to get the highlights, midtones and shadows properly exposed in a scene where ordinarily the camera will over expose the highlights and or under expose the darker areas. In order to achieve this, Bracketing uses three or more photos taken at different exposures which are then blended together in post production to achieve a HDR image.

White on White
20:00 PM
This Thursday we will be having an indoor workshop night and the theme is ‘‘White on White’.
The idea is to capture anything white against or on a white background (eggs; candles; sugar cubes; flowers; cups & saucers are just a few ideas), but please bring along anything you think is a good interpretation of the theme.
While we will have speedlights, triggers etc, we recommend that you bring your own lighting gear etc (if you have it) and try and put your own style and twist on the theme.
Your imagination is the only limit so let’s see where it will take you! These nights are great fun but only if you enter into the spirit of it & get involved, you’ll be amazed at the photos you’ll get!
Even if it’s ‘not really your thing’ please come along & help others who may not have done this sort of photography before.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Copy Of -Outing or Water Works!
20:00 PM
This Thursday we have a planned club outing.
Given the unpredictable nature of our recent weather we also have a backup plan.
Plan A - Club outing to Glendalough for Astro / Night Sky photography.
This should give our members the opportunity to get an image for our next Bi-Weekly Competition.
Car pooling is recommended from GCC HQ or members can just meet at Glendalough.
Further internal communications will be sent out ahead of this outing to give you general guidelines of what to bring with you, how to prepare in advance etc...
Plan B - We will be having an indoor workshop night at GCC HQ and the theme is ‘water’. The idea is to capture water flowing, also splashes and water droplets.
We will have a few different setups but please do bring along anything you think is a good interpretation of the theme.
There will be droplet workstations setup to try and capture that perfect drop.
Barry will also have two paddling pools out again(!) and will focus on water and hands.
While we will have speed lights, triggers etc, we recommend that you bring your own lighting gear (if you have it) and try and put your own style and twist on the theme.
Your imagination is the only limit so let’s see where it will take you!
These nights are great fun but only if you enter into the spirit of it & get involved, you’ll be amazed at the photos you’ll get!
Important:
Members are requested to keep an eye out on the usual communications channels for a 'go, no go' on Thursday evening for Plan A, if not it's Plan B.
Either way, we look forward to seeing you there!
